What's the best Heating & Hot Water System solution for a 1 bed flat?

by Jon0 » Fri Dec 18, 2020 4:41 pm

I have a refurbishment project - a complete strip out.
A 1 bed flat above a large double garage, with a loft area above the flat.
The flat provides a bedroom, bathroom and open plan kitchen/living area. Its going to be a standard rental or holiday let.
What would be the best system to install for hot water to serve the kitchen and bathroom (shower only) and to heat the three rooms?
I want to maximise the space in the flat so could put the system in the loft or in the garage (easier servicing is suppose).
I only have electric coming into the flat, so that will hopefully help narrow the type of system. No access to gas or oil.
Views and advice as to type of system and brand very appreciated.

You dont seem to have much choice. But watch out for the cost on running electric. My place is mainly gas, but i just had a friend stay here because of covid with his camper van. My monthly electric went from £65/£75 to £174 because he is all electric. Nearly a £100 hike. In all fairness, he is chipping in £10 a day. But i was surprised at the increase.
