Amtico on Top Tiles Below and Underfloor Heating

by Jim.h » Tue Mar 13, 2018 10:47 am

I have electric central hating below a botched porcelain floor tiling job in our bathroom. Rather than lift the tiles and risk damaging the wall tiles I am thinking about laying the Amtico on top of the existing floor tiles but I am wondering if sufficient heat will get through the tiles....... The new screed and the Amtico. The underfloor heating is left switched on. Any advice?

Hi, The heat will eventually make its way up through your new floor covering. However it the new covering will effect how much heats passes through. So you will have a certain amount of heat loss. How much, hard to say exactly.
