Sand the walls or use lining paper?

by Colette5865 » Sun Feb 14, 2021 8:35 am

Hello,

i've just had a new bathroom fitted and i want to paint the walls. There was lining paper up previously that i've removed, but now underneath i've been left with patches of paint and patches of visible plaster.

I was wondering whats best to do so that i can get a smooth finish as i'm clearly not going to be able to paint directly onto the walls just yet.

Many thanks in advance :)

Hi colette5865
Fill around the bare patches and sand flat to disguise the paint edges. Apply a mist coat to the bare areas and then paint. Do not use lining paper in a bathroom.
