Insulation and loft boarding using raised legs

by Pangloss83 » Sun Feb 14, 2021 10:29 am

Hello,

My house was built around 1900. I want to lay insulation at 270mm using loft legs. Will the lost joists be okay to screw loft legs directly into? Any advice on this process much appreciated. I’ve been putting it off for a long time, especially since we had a rat/rats in the attic this time last year.

Thanks

Hi pangloss83
Houses of the age of your generally have small joists, certainly not strong enough to support an additional floor.
