Help needed to identify what this unit is and it’s purpose

by Foolishhart » Tue Feb 16, 2021 9:54 am

I have a project in a home with an old gravity central heating setup.
I found this unit behind a panel in the dining room and I have no idea what it is or it’s purpose. It is mounted on an external wall but there is no outlet or vent on the outside.
Any ideas?

Looks like a radiator?
If so, can only assume that it was no longer required at some point and boxed in rather than removed?
