Loose Bathroom Downlight Cover Fix

by MYHomeDIY » Tue Feb 16, 2021 11:31 am

Just in the process of decorating the main bathroom and have discovered that the piece of glass on one of the screw in downlight covers has come loose. I have removed the screw cover to inspect. The glass is in tact as is the screw cover but the previous seal/adhesive has become loose/worn (I am guessing this glass seal also stops moisture heading into the light fitting itself). I would rather not replace the whole fitting and struggling to find just a replacement screw in cover. Could I just reseal with a heat resistant adhesive being so close to the LED lamp? If so any product recommendations? If not any other suggestions on how to fix? Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi myhomediy
If the light is led rather than halogen you could use silicone mastic to stick the cover back in place.
