Leaking bathroom tap but I can't get the top off

by Leeus1 » Thu Feb 18, 2021 2:16 pm

Hi. I’m a complete beginner.

I have a leaking bathroom tap. I’ve looked at videos online which show people taking the top off where cold is written to expose the screw underneath. I can’t for the life of me work out how to get the top off. I have tried a Stanley blade round the side but worry I’m going to damage the tap. I can’t get the blade down the side. I’ve attached photos - it seems pretty stuck.

Am I right to remove the top and if so any advice how? Thanks so much in advance.

Hi leeus1
I think the whole top bit - china bit with chrome bezel unscrews.

Hi leeus1
I think the whole top bit - china bit with chrome bezel unscrews leaving the crucifix handle on the spindle
