Fixing plug to Zanussi oven?

by msa969 » Thu Feb 11, 2021 1:05 pm

I have a Zanussi oven and the heating element needs to be changed. In my kitchen i have installed a new oven whilst i fix the Zanussi. The wire for oven cookers are thick grey flatter grey ones and the copper wire is thicker. Whilst I am fixing the Zanussi oven I will be attaching a normal 13amp plug. I will be changing the heating element. Will this be a problem? If and when I fix the Zanussi i will like to refurbish it and sell it on and need to show it working.

To sell as a working appliance you will need to show it is safe, disposing on free cycle is not a problem, but as soon as money changes hands then normal method is to PAT test it.

With any inspection the inspector needs to show he has the skill, go to any charity shop and try giving them electrical goods and unless they have some one who can test them, they will be refused.

Even when I can show I have the skill, I would not do it without insurance, so think you need to re-think your plans.
