Repairing plaster on the wall after removing picture

by Paul1782 » Fri Mar 05, 2021 9:55 am

Hi All,

I am in a rented property and in the process of removing a picture from the wall, a chunk of plaster has come off. I have attached some pictures of the issue.

I want to repair the damage that has happened, but i'm not sure what plaster to use to patch the hole as the stuff currently on the wall seems extremely flimsy and not really attached to the wall in the first place.

Any advice would be amazing as I'd like to avoid the landlord using this an excuse to take my entire deposit

Hi paul1782
Firstly tap around the hole so you get back to a sound edge, then fill using a powder filler - polyfilla/tetrion... - allow to dry, sand the repair then paint.
