FloPlast Gutter Fascia Bracket & Downpipe Bracket Fixing Screws

by Rich05UK » Tue Mar 23, 2021 3:52 pm

The FloPlast installation guide (found at https://floplast.co.uk/wp-content/uploa ... -Guide.pdf) says to use two 25mm x 5mm roundhead brass or zinc screws when fitting fascia brackets and to secure pipe/socket clips with two 32mm x 6.5mm screws.

I cant find any of these specific screw sizes, I've found close to these sizes but they are not roundhead and not made from Zinc or Brass either. I've looked at Screwfix, Toolstation, B&Q and Wickes, so can anyone please advise of suitable fixing screws for these brackets.

I am fixing the gutter brackets to a wooden facia boards with screws and pilot drilling the holes first. I am fixing the downpipe brackets to brick using suitable screws & plugs

Any help much appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi rich05uk
Ignore floplast advice. If you are going straight into a facia use 5x25mm stainless countersunk screws. Use these for the downpipe brackets but fix into the bricks not in the courses. Fitting into the courses can split them apart and if you have an older property the screws may not hold in soft mortar.
