pendant connection

by bristol » Sat Mar 27, 2021 1:46 pm

Afternoon all,

I removed the light pendant in our lounge for the ceiling to be plastered. When I went to reconnect, the light doesn't work. The light is served by 2 switches and the wiring from the ceiling in my photo is exactly as it was before the light was removed.
Grateful for advice please !

The wiring may be the same but how about the connections?
I suspect you may have pushed the wire in too far and have screwed down on the insulation, not the conductor.

Good morning Mr White,

Case solved !

Many thanks for getting back to me. As a layman I always seek to push the wire in as far as possible in the belief that it makes for the best connection.

Lesson learned !!

Happy to have helped. And thanks for letting us know. (Most people post once only to never be heard from again.)
