Another leaky basin waste...

by proftanda » Fri Apr 02, 2021 12:07 am

This may be an easy problem but I still can’t fix it!

I have a bathroom basin with a metal bottle trap.

I lost the original washer/gasket that seals the connection between the bottle trap and the metal threaded end of the plug below the sink.

I’ve tried replacing it with this rubber washer which appears to fit...

...but it still weeps at this connection.

Can anyone say if this should be another kind of washer? I’ve seen ‘fibre’ washers at the same size. Would this be worth trying?

Thanks!
Nick
