How to prevent gaps in laminate flooring

by gemma2014 » Mon Apr 05, 2021 10:57 pm

Some of the laminate flooring planks move about as they're walked on and create gaps. They can be pushed back together but soon move apart again. How do we resolve this?

Hi gemma2014
There is no longer a locking ridge on the join so you will have to use adhesive. Suggest you use mitre bond so you can apply the superglue part to the join, push together then spray with the rapid accelerator.

Thank you. It's happened on several boards so not sure what's happened for the ridges not to be there. There's a lot of mystery diy-ing that's happened in this house!

Hi gemma2014
Sorry but your laminate has been fitted by someone who does not know what they are doing - the locking ridge is easily broken on cheaper or refitted laminate.
