Window that keeps sliding down when open

by northlondoner2508 » Wed Apr 28, 2021 8:47 am

[img]Good morning everyone,

So here’s my problem, if anyone could help me that would be really good, I’ve had this problem from day 1, and didn’t do anything about it but as I’m going to move out, I’d like to get that fixed.

So as you can see on the photo, I have this type of window (I don’t really know what’s the exact term) and it keeps sliding down, so I can’t keep it opened without using an object or something. Further, I don’t see any missing part or anything that would cause that so I’m a little bit lost as to what to do to get that fixed !

I’m also a bit worried that a professional repair for such minor problem would cost me an arm, especially for something I haven’t caused, so I’d pretty much like to fix that myself (that is, with my non-existent knowledge)

Your help is much much appreciated

Hi northlondoner2508
In the black slider part of the hinge there is a brass slotted screw, tighten this slightly both sides to increase the friction so the window stays where you set it.
Regards S
