Long story short...loft converted. Ridge beam installed to support rear dormer. Floor steels installed at front and rear, both are 2 x steels that are spliced together. Both are approx 5.5m in total. We haven't moved in straight away as the whole site is a work in progress. After approx 4-5 weeks we realised that the floor in the loft was not even and was dipping towards the middle on the rear. Having already taken down the bathroom ceiling, under the rear beam, we were able to see, with a level, that it wasn't sitting straight, was tilting towards the back garden and also the connecting plate between the 2 sections had 5 of 10 bolts not tighten. The builder came back, with his friend the building inspector, who both said it just needed to be propped, have the bolts tightened, and then props removed after 3 days. This was done. The beam is still not level but does not appear to have got worse. They have both said that "some deflection" is ok and that the twisting is not an issue but I'm just not convinced even through the inspector says he will sign off the project once a firedoor and smoke alarm are fitted. The builder told me that he did not get a SE report done but that he got instruction from another building inspector on "what he would like to see". The I have attached a few pics and would appreciate your opinions. Is this ok?

From your post it would seem that there is a certain amount of collusion between your builder and BI.
Suggest it is important that you get an independent structural report especially regarding the steels and their installation. Do this before any further building work is done to conceal the structures.
