Greetings all.
Having just purchased a very old water mill, I now have to connect the farm houses to the mains water. At present the farm houses are being supplied from a well. The buildings are on an island surrounded by a small stream, so I will have to route the mains water pipe from the meter, along the edge of the stream and then under it.
My question is this: Having marked out where my trench will go, about 30 metres, I have dug down in the field to about 650. Being on a flood plain makes things slightly complicated ! .. the hole is full of water at the bottom to a depth of around 100. Has anyone laid a mains water pipe in water before? or below the water line ? my main concern is how to insulate the pipe from water ingress? .. I've got the mains water piping and the blue ridgicoil, but I'm not sure given the depth of the water that will end up in the trench once dug, if this will be sufficient ?
