I have a Ryobi orbital sander, model EOS-2410. Although it is a few years old it has not been used frequently and doesn't seem to lack power. I have only tried to use it to rub down gloss paint prior to re-painting. Frankly, I can cut through the gloss more effectively by hand with a 100 grit paper than the Ryobi can with 60 grit paper, and I am 74 years old! I was told not to put presure on it and just let the weight do the job. Even putting pressure on doesn't cut it. Am I being unfair to expect the machine to do this job with ease?
