Help with quantities

by Grandad99 » Fri Jun 04, 2021 10:22 pm

Making a base for a 7' x 5' shed. Limited DIY skills so have looked at instructions on websites and Youtube. They all start by cutting the base in a lawn! Mine is in a sloping border in the corner of the garden but have sussed that.

Once the soil is level and compacted I will use a 2" deep dry mixture of sand and cement, 1 part cement to 8 parts sand. How many 25kg bags of each will I need?

Next step will be to find them and make several visits as all stockists are imposing limits.

Hi grandad99
You will need about 10 bags of coarse sharp sand and 1+ bags of cement - suggest you get 2 and use a stronger mix.
