Green plaster under wall paper

by Srm14 » Wed Jun 09, 2021 9:41 pm

Hi all,
I’m new here, we’ve just bought a 1920s semi that need modernising, will be getting people in but to start we thought we’d strip the walls.

In the box room, the wall with the window has been replasterd, with a green section above the window and Also two other walls above where the rails used to be, the area below seems plastered boarded.

Not sure what this green sections are, is this something to worry about e.g asbestos/lead/other?

Have attached pictures too.

The remaining wall is paint over plaster. Not sure what’s been going on here

Many thanks

Hi srm14
In view of the age of your property it is likely that the area above the picture rail was painted green as a feature.
The plastering on the external wall and round the internal return has probably been done due to damp ingress.
Regards S
