EasyJoint pointing in patio broken up

by Johnd1881 » Tue Jun 22, 2021 9:13 pm

Hi all,
I have a query and wondering if someone can help?

I've had my patio for around 2 years now. It's a natural stone (light grey). The builder laying the patio insisted on a concrete base Which wasn't an issue but instead of pointing he used EasyJoint. Initially this looked amazing. However after the first winter the grout started to break away. What I think is happening is water is sitting in the the grout and can't drain away because of the base. I'm at a loss what to do know and to be honest there isn't a huge amount of grout left so I am debating using traditional pointing. Does any have any advice or suggestions?

Note the patio have been sealed with easyseal.

Many thanks in advance

John

Hi johnd1881
Suggest you use a conventional mortar - 3/4 parts sharp sand and 1 part cement.
