Level a section of concrete floor as shed base

by mpdimitrova » Sun Jun 27, 2021 6:04 pm

Hi everyone! Complete novice here and need some help - with thanks in advance!

I need to level a 2 sq m area outside my house as a base for a metal bike shed. The floor is made up of large concrete slabs. The shed base will have to go across two of them - each sloping away from the other. The difference between the lowest point and the highest point is c.5cm/2in

I'd like to use a self-leveling screed. My question is - is that a good idea, and if so, what should I use as a barrier so the screed only covers the area I need it to?

Many thanks in advance!

Hi mpdimitrova
Form 2 frames each with internal size 1/2 the size of your shed. Lay these on the concrete slabs and level fill with a fine sharp sand / cement mix.
