Double socket earth tripping after replacing after plastering

by stingray » Thu Aug 05, 2021 3:33 pm

Hi there,

Looking for some help/advice. Reinstalling some double sockets in one of the bedrooms after they were removed for a new plaster job. However, one of the sockets seems to trip the main fuse with both earth wires connected, but seems to work fine with just one. See attached pick. Any suggestions much appreciated?

Hi stingray
It may be that you have a radial circuit and the earth wire highlights a fault somewhere outwards from this socket.
Since you mention replastering water in the wiring is the most probable cause.

Hi Stoneboy,

Thanks for the reply. Time to get a professional in to take a look I think.

Cheers
