The door opener spigot / tongue stayed out following a wash cycle, we were then unable to close the door to begin a new wash. Unit was under warranty, Hotpoint engineer attended, fix was a re-flash of the control module software, apparently a manufacturer bug which shows itself if the unit is left too long at the end of the cycle. If you encounter similar issue and you are out of warranty, I would argue that the unit should be repaired FOC as with this bug its potentially unfit for purpose.

Same fault has occurred again...Christmas morning with a huge gathering planned later.... thanks Hotpoint!! I'm going to pursue a claim that this unit is unfit for purpose, no doubt the next failure will be one day outside the warranty
