Replacement of single rainfall wall shower head

by aferguson024 » Mon Aug 16, 2021 11:55 am

Hello - we have a rainfall shower with a single wall shower head, and then thermostatic mixer. We only have the rainfall head, there is no handset or other shower head and no exposed pipework.

The shower valve is vertical.

Something similar to this: https://victoriaplum.com/product/mode-h ... 200mm_head

Is it possible to retrofit a handset or something similar without destroying the tiling? We love the bathroom generally and don't want to retile if we don't have to, but my partner is pretty peeved with trying not to get her hair wet in a rainfall shower!

I can't see anything to do this off the shelf - all the exposed kits seem to assume the water is fed from the bottom. Is there a kit available, or is this something a bathroom fitter could build with bespoke pipework?

Hi afergusson024
Very unlikely to be able to adapt the existing without removing tiles. A diverter valve will have to be fitted in the pipe feeding the shower head and a wall mounted outlet fitted for the hand held shower.
