How to repair damaged plasterboard after removing skirting boards

by Chris_M » Fri Aug 20, 2021 12:44 am

Hi,

I'm looking for some advice on how to repair some plasterboard damage after removing skirting boards.
It's a new build property.
Have taken the boards off for when new flooring is going down soon then the boards will be going back on again but there's a few spots where the plasterboard has crumbled.
There's only a few patches but not sure how to repair this as new to this and never done this before.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi chrism
If it has just crumbled and the paper backing is largely intact, skim over the area. If there are large holes, cut out a section and fit a new piece. Taper cut all edges so you can glue the new piece in with filler.
