Gap at box end between slates and plastic?

by jay300 » Wed Sep 01, 2021 10:05 am

I've just noticed that there is a gap between the slates and the plastic of the box end on my ground floor extension (see image). Wouldn't rain be able to get in here and wet the rafters? Should I seal it up and with what?

Hi jay300,
You do need to fill this gap, rain is unlikely to get in but birds and even vermin will use it to get access to your roof space. Suggest you fit an extra piece of plastic to extend the facia end upwards but you will also need a taper piece to fill above the facia itself on this end.
Regards S
