1950s bungalow with potential subfloor issue Help, advice, information, answers and tips on all types of flooring from laminate and carpet to timber and vinyl

Hi, I am looking to purchase a 1950s bungalow. However when pulling back the carpets there are raised areas and cracking on what appears to be a subfloor laid on the original concreate slab. There are no trees near the property and for the pictures attached, the bedroom, hallway and kitchen corner are all in the centre of the house with no wall structural issues to suggest any kind of movement. The living room has a similar issue but appears may be a different flooring/colour. Please can anyone advise if they know what kind of flooring it is, can the problem areas be taken out and a screed inserted, would the whole flooring need to be replaced and is it very costly job? Looks like you have a bitumen or pitch mastic DPM laid on top of the base floor. You could try heating a small area (as in the second image) with a hot air gun and see if it liquefies.
