Architrave required for this repair?

I'm no diy expert but is it best to remove the rest of this board & just replace with some architrave & screws?

Hi wesdag,
Since it looks like water is getting into the window subframe I suggest you get a upvc section with drip moulding and once it’s in place seal it to the concrete lintel.
