Hi all,
I’m trying to relocate my washing machine to a new location. This will result in a fairly long (5-6m) waste pipe run which I’m hoping to run under our suspended timber floor through the basement. I know this is a long run but with the correct fall and supporting the pipes I think it can be done?
My question is about the standpipe and trap arrangement. If I use a regular washer trap, should I put a 90 degree bend on the output so I can run into the floor (effectively making it an S-trap) or should I have the trap itself under the floor level (ensuring the flexible hose is correct height).
Or should I use a waterless trap/valve (which might be better given the length of the run). If so I’m not sure how to actually connect that to the washer hose?
Thanks in advance!
