I bought an LED bathroom light from a well-known online retailer. It arrived in a plain cardboard box (with a CE sticker on the box), no instructions and no markings at all on the fitting itself - just 2 wires sticking out of the top.
My question is: is it safe to use? Are there legal requirements about having the voltage and other info marked on a luminaire, or is it OK to just have that info in the seller's online product description (which said it was 240v AC, 18 watts).
I was just a bit surprised - and read other posts on here about house insurance being invalidated if products don't meet the statutory regs.
Humorously, I wondered if it was the cardboard box that met the CE mark requirements, not the light fitting!
Many thanks.
