Smeg Oven Overheating Could the temperature Probe be faulty.? Ask questions and find answers to many subjects relating to electrics and electrical work

Its a long story . But Smeg can't solve it.
Intermittantly about every 10 months.
Main oven switches Off before food cooks.
Control board has been swapped out.
Micro Switch which operates Pyrolight (I think may also be linked to solonoid lock.) Has been swapped out.
Symptoms are Pyro light and oven light alternately flashing with intermittant beeper. Cooling fan switches on , after oven cooled one can resume cooking.
Eventually spoken to what is apparently the top engineers at smeg , who advise .
Its designed to do that. Its built to specification. Nothing more they can do.
After 3 yrs . and 2 smeg visits and chat to Smeg engineer, (friend of a friend) Numerous on line chats ,Smeg Servavast etc, none of whom had any knowledge of this as a symptom. I've considered ventilation, Im thinking now possibly Temperature probe a bit iffy, maybe? Any one there with any similar situation. Am I right in thinking the probe is not the thermostat that is controlled by knob at front of oven. (i'm not referring to my wife there) I don't think the oven is over heating. But I don't know. I think ventilation is OK, Any guidance suggestions Questions Welcome Please. Ken

Hello there, I would like to mention that folk will often assume an item is "faulty" and waste money changing said item only for the problem to still persist because the "faulty" item is not operating as expected due to the previous item in the circuit failing to operate correctly, this is typical of white goods, as they have become very specialised, long gone are the days when there were just a few switches, some elements and some wires.

If you have an electrical wiring problem, want to add an additional socket, have lights not working, we can help, but white goods......... I can only suggest you would be better off looking for a forum that is more specific to your requirements. (White goods) Anything else is just a guess, and guesses are never a good idea.
