Most cost effective option to improve patched rendered front wall.

Hi,

The front of my property gets pummelled by really bad weather, often horizontal rain and sleet.

What is the most cost effective way to improve the appearance of the lumpy patched existing render?

1) Would decorative textured finish (eg Sandtex Highbuild) hide render imperfections here, or would I need to re-render over existing? I suspect will not hide the lumps.

2) To re-render, would acrylic be ok? It seems to be easier to DIY than traditional render, and cheaper than silicon although it is not breathable - but then the house is gypsum plastered inside and rendered outside so not a breathing house anyway.

3) How about cladding in the cheapest available material, directly over existing render with an appropriate membrane and then battens? I could DIY this having done it before when working as junior carpenter.

Thanks!
