Toilet flush problem with water coming down pan

by kia606 » Wed Mar 09, 2022 7:24 am

Our toilet which is a year old has begun to have a problem with its flush.
It flushes seemingly normally but then when the cistern has filled water comes down the pan for about 20-30 seconds then stops.
Hoping somebody has a fix for this :)

Hi kia606,
Presumably you have a plunger type flush rather than a siphon flush. If this is correct then either the plunger mechanism is sticky or the washer on the bottom of the plunger has deformed and is not sealing correctly.
Replacing the flush unit is the best solution and if you can find an identical model/manufacturer it is normally a matter of twist and remove flush mechanism - no need to turn off the water supply.
