How to fix in a brick core in old flue hole?

by Cg32 » Mon Mar 21, 2022 5:06 pm

New gas boiler fitted and a new hole drilled for external flue. The new core was placed in the old hole but not cemented in because of the filthy weather at the time. How do I fix it in and weather seal it now? (Gas fitters not responding to my request to finish the job off). Not much of a DIYer but it seems such a small job to find someone for. TIA.

Hi cg32,
Buy some ready mixed mortar and fill the gaps around the flue, if the gaps are large you may have to add brick pieces.

Thank you! Thought it might be more complicated because of the heat from the flue but I can do that!
