Oh dear. Bit of an issue to sort that unfortunately to sort property will not be too cheap.
Firstly I would not advise loose gravel being laid on a slope. Best case scenario, you'll be raking it all back up the drive every weekend, otherwise you'll end up with it all at the bottom and dragging out into the road.
A drive should never have 8" of gravel, its hardly any wonder your car sinks, you'll have to get one of those little hovercraft things.
There will be various ways this can be resolved. My prefered solution would be to have a concrete base and roll the gravel into the top of the concrete while it is still wet. This will give the appearance of a gravel drive but will be solid to walk upon. You can then have a 2" deep gravel drive where it is level.
I can appreciate the quarry dust idea, similar to using sand I guess. You will effectively have a ballast driveway, but at 8" deep this will not last too long either.
Hope this helps
