i was just using it and it suddenly stopped working, it's new even tho i had it fo a while, didn't even go trough a set of brushes

power arrives to the board. but turning it on does nothing, i think the board, or something on the board is fried. what could it be? and can if find replacements? and solder it back on?

With any device that has electronics, once you have checked the obvious, you will need a circuit diagram and a list of component values, you can then check to establish which part is working incorrectly. As for getting said diagram and list, I can only wish you luck.

I have to agree, I have found it near impossible once a device has failed to work out what is required to repair it, as it seems manufacturers love to grind off any ID numbers.

Even when they have not, a PIC is programmed, so without the program the device is useless, and although I did well programming PLC's I did not do very well with PIC's, often called a Microchip after the firm who makes them, like an air volatility cleaner is often called a Hover. Or even a vacuum cleaner.

i see, so after checking the oblivious i should just ditch it?

i hooked up 220v straight to the motor. and the drill works fine. i checked the 2 resistors on the board. they're both broken. there are some other components that i do not know.

if someone can tell me how to check those, if those work i can just replace the resistors and be good.

otherwise, where can i get a speed controller like this one?

the ID numbers are all there on this one luckly

As I first said

It is not possible to tell you how to test something if I don't know what it is.

can't i just get a voltage regulator to change the motor speed? isn't that what the board does?

I see you are not grasping the situation. I will try one more time.

Almost anything electronic can be fixed or repaired IF you have the circuit diagram and component values of the components. With this information, it should then be possible to figure out not only what does each component do and is it doing it properly, but you can then figure out what each "section" of the whole device does.

Since you do not have this information, you are, in effect, fighting a battle you can not win.

? why would i need to have a circuit diagram? it's literally a a/c engine that's it. i removed the board and now the drill is running good but at top rpm since there is nothing to slow it down.

can you explain why i can't just buy something like a voltage regulator and hook it up?
how is this any different from any a/c engine???
