Trying to find the manufacturer/installer of my uPVC windows and doors Post questions and find answers on glazing, double glazing, upvc glazing, conservatory glazing, fixtures and fittings etc....

Hi, I'm trying to find the manufacturer/installer of my uPVC windows, they were installed around 2003/2004 and I can no find the paperwork to refer to. I do vaguely remember them having stickers on them saying something about 'Ashford Surrey'...also having done extensive research online I thought I could identify them by the flag hinges, but I can't even find pictures of hinges that match...there is a faint logo on the inside of the hinges, but I can't make it out properly...all help appreciated if anyone can....many thanks.

This depends on what you're trying to find the manufacturer of the windows for - are you trying to match new ones with the old, looking for replacement parts etc?

Let me know, and will try to help. Worth knowing it's unlikely you'll find the exact same windows as building regs have changed on the performance of windows and these products have been redesigned to comply as a result.

Sorry forgot to add earlier, these are Roto hinges from the stamp on them and the company is Roto Frank if you wanted to do a search - not sure if I can post links on the forum.

Hi Nick and thank-you for your reply...I'm hoping to find out either the manufacturer so I can find proper instructions to open them up and adjust them as my doors are dropping OR find the installer to see if they are still trading and hopefully get them into adjust them properly. Any help you can give is much appreciated...though I suspect I will have to either get another company in to adjust them or take out that inside screw and see if it opens the hinge cover myself.

To be honest I think your best and easiest solution is to do a local search for a double glazing repair and maintenance company as they're more likely to know how to adjust old doors, having come across most types of door hinges and door systems that may require adjustment.

Hi, no, not an installer, just have 30+ years in the trade and now work with the glazing industry and have the aluminium trade supply website if you do a search for that - we help homeowners and the trade. :)
