What is an upstand on a UPVC door?

by doubleudee » Wed Aug 24, 2022 11:43 am

Thickie here, but what does Upstand mean and what does it refer to on a upvc door?
I am of the thinking it is the depth of the piece that fits to the door-frame, is that correct as I have measured mine as being 40mm if that is correct, and the depth of the main hinge fitted to the door is 20mm.

Thanks
WD
