I have a new extractor fan with terminal names 1(LT) 2(L) and 3(N).

The existing fan is currently wired with two separate grey cables (each of them have blue and brown cables inside). Twin and earth without the earth I think!

With the first grey cable the blue is going to "1 N Neutral Supply" and the brown is going to "2 S Switched Supply".

With the second grey cable the brown cable is going to "3 P Permanent Supply" (the blue cable is not connected to anything).

I have attached photos below and I am wondering where the existing cables should go in the new fan.

They should be connected the same way that they are now.

Thanks for the reply Mr White. To simplify things a bit, what I’m struggling with is how the terminals marked 1(LT) 2(L) and 3(N) on the new unit correspond to the terminals marked "1 N Neutral Supply", "2 S Switched Supply" and "3 P Permanent Supply" on the old unit. E.g. presumably 3(N) = "1 N Neutral Supply"

If you have something you do not know, then do the parts you do know.

Your fan requires Live, Neutral and Switched live.
You already know what one of them is, when you figure the others out, you will kick yourself as it is so obvious.

3(N) = "1 N Neutral Supply" is only my bite?,
But 1(LT) = "2 S Switched Supply" could be right?,
meaning 2 (L) is Permanent Supply,
but I don’t know why,
so that’s the last time I ask Mr White
(plenty more fish in the sea!!!)
