Roof Tile Question is One the Wrong Way Around?

by dhowell » Sun Dec 04, 2022 9:46 am

Hi,

I just had a new roof put in.

The contractors put back the existing tiles.

However, one looks the wrong way around. I have included a photo.

The contractors said this is an eve tile and should be like that for ventilation of the roof. Is that correct?

Thanks.

Hi dhowell,
I'm assuming you have a loft. It's an unusual solution - I don't see how an insect grille can have been incorporated.
Have a look in the loft and see if the underfelt has an opening lining up with the "vent tile". There should also be vents along the eaves edge - have these been installed?
Regards S
