New units have more condensation than the old ones??? Post questions and find answers on glazing, double glazing, upvc glazing, conservatory glazing, fixtures and fittings etc....

We have an aged conservatory in which we have had to have three failed doble-glaved units replaced. We keep the door open from the living room to the conservatory because our cat has his trays in there. We have noticed that the three new units get more condensation than the old ones which seems counter-intuitive. I wonder if anyone can explain this? Thanks in advance.

Hi uplander,
If any part of the DGUs are below 800mm then the replacement units would have to be thicker glass so the air gap in them would be reduced, this decreasing the insulation value hence more condensation.
