Woodworm on floorboards after removing laminate

by Mac975 » Sun Jan 01, 2023 7:33 pm

Hi all,
I've just removed my laminate flooring in the kitchen to find in one corner the floorboards are really soft, turns out its because of woodworm. I'm thinking I need to replace all the floorboards to make sure I get rid of the problem even though the rest of the floor seems ok but still with evidence of wood worm. its a raised floor so my question is can I replace the boards with moisture resistant chipboard for ease and cost benefits or should I replace with normal floorboards...if so which ones would you recommend? Thanks

Hi mac975,
Go for chipboard but you may need to use 22mm thick to match remaining floorboards.
Treat joists and remaining floorboards with water based woodworm killer.
