Neighbours leaning fence and post

by Gray1981 » Sun Jan 08, 2023 1:12 pm

Hi, hoping someone can provide some guidance/ help regarding a fence in my garden.
My neighbour installed a 6ft fence around 18 months ago and part of it is learning quite badly and I am looking for recommendations on how best to fix it.
The fence post is wooden and fixed by a steal post base to concrete. The fence has been flimsy since it was installed but is now badly leaning and with some strong wind will probably blow down plus the concrete it is screwed to is poor and uneven.
Do we just need to take the fence down and improve the base and reinstall the post?
Do we need a new/ better steal post base? Or is there something else we can do to strengthen the post?

Hi gray1981,
Metal plate pockets are just not adequate for a 6ft fence. Unless you want to fit new posts your best option is to instal concrete spurs set in new concrete, bolted to the existing wooden posts.
