Are blanking plates needed for unused sockets?

(This is also posted on Mybuilder, without images)
We live in a victorian terrace and have 2 separate double power points in skirting boards in corner of room where we want to place baby cot. We won't be using either, and I want to know if necessary to blank them for optimum safety. Am aware uk points are designed to be child safe, but am concerned about fact that they will be sitting pretty much right against cot mattress, and wasn't sure that was ideal in terms of moisture getting in etc? Or any possible fire risk? Images attached.
Thanks very much

Hi diomiraisidora,
There should not be any issues if you are not using the sockets. You could fit blanking plugs to make sure nothing gets into the socket holes.
