Leaning fence post

by greengrass » Tue Apr 25, 2023 9:54 am

w 1 our garden 2 neighbours. 2
Fence post with lean due to sloping ground of neighbours garden being circa 5 feet lower than ours. Drawing. This depth means a post hole about 4feet + depth
Been advised not to bring post 2feet back into our garden as it creates boundary problem losing approx 66 feet x 2 feet of our garden keeping fence line straight.
Any bracer ideas ?
Many thanks

Hi greengrass,
It’s very likely that the very bottom of the post is the original fence line. Have a look at your deeds and see if there are any measurements specified - deeds are generally very vague but getting things sorted before you work on the fence may save a boundary dispute later.
