How to orient elbow compression fitting correctly?

by JStracks » Fri Apr 28, 2023 11:55 am

Hi all,

I assume there is probably an obvious solution to this, but I don't know it. On the right hand side I have an elbow fitting, which conveniently oriented perfectly when fully tightened, however the on the left side the fitting is facing upwards when fully tight. How can I fully tighten an elbow fitting on the left side and ensure it's oriented the way I need it? I don't want run without an elbow fitting, because I will mor sharp of a bend in the flexi hose than I am comfortable with.

Thanks for any help!

Hi jstracks,
You have two options - use enough ptfe tape so you get a sealing fit without tightening down onto the elbow shoulder, or, use a thread sealant - pick an anaerobic one which will seal almost instantly.
