Hi,
We have an old coal house connected to the house which has a drain in, the kitchen sink used to empty into it and I think it’s a gulley type drain. When the kitchen was remodelled the builder added a new drain so the old one is no longer used but still connected. We have had a rat come up it because it dries out so really need to get rid of it. The floor around it is all concrete and I have been told easiest way would be to bag some sand and push it into the drain and then fill it with concrete to the floor level. I would assume the right way would be to cut the floor and dig down to the clay pipe and cut the connection out but I have been told this is overkill. Any advice would be great
