Toilet Water Supply Line

by Moose1 » Mon May 22, 2023 5:38 pm

Hi -

My toilet water supply line was leaking the water mains end (connected to wall) so I changed the supply line but the supply line is now leaking at the other end that is attached to the cistern.

I've tried to tighten the nut and have added another washer but it still leaks. Any ideas?
Thanks.

Hi moose1,
Most likely problem is that the metal projecting part of your supply line is larger than the hole in the fill valve stub. Change one or the other if this is the case.

Thanks stoneyboy - I'll go back to the plumbving shop. The guy told me that all the connectors were a universal fitting but I'll see what he says. It's really frustrating!

Hi moose1,
Yes the connectors are fairly standard but the threaded spigot into the fill valve is sometimes thicker. They’ll all be 1/2” BSP but the hole size up the middle can vary in diameter.
