Beading instalation problem

by Marek. Filip » Sat May 27, 2023 1:00 pm

Hello,
I hope everyone who reads this post is doing well.
My windows fogged up, so I decided to change myself glass units instead of buying new windows...The problem arose when I got to work. Unfortunately I can't mount the beading back properly. The glass units are fitted from the outside. The way I'm trying to deal with this is - First I pull out the gasket from the inside, then beading from the outside, then the glass, then I insert a new glass unit and I put it on the packers. Now it's time for beading, which as I take it out I put marks in the back from where I removed it so I can place back in same sequence . I would add that beading has trimmed miters only on the upper and lower beading. I do not know what I am doing wrong, but every time the angles do not close, and the gasket, which is fitted to beading is protrudes from the glass ( this refers to at least one beading usually the last one I put back) . Then I put the gasket from the inside and then the miters still are not closed properly. The thickness of the new units is the same as the old ones. I even tried to put in back an old glass unit and the problem was the same. I do not know if there is any sequence of inserting these beadings ? Maybe I should use more force or special tool? Any help would be appreciated.
All the best.

Hi marek filip,
For some window designs the beads when fitted should be inserted into a channel around the inner part of the frame before they are snapped into the edge of the beading frame.
