Does the shower cubicle have to be dry before being sealed?

by Tours » Mon Jun 19, 2023 9:57 am

Hi, does the shower cubicle, base etc. always have to be dry before being sealed?

We just had a bathroom re-fit and the shower is leaking in a number of places from the cubicle. The builder is returning to re-seal the shower but insists it doesn't need to be dry before doing so.

Also, should the shower always be sealed between the shower base and the the adjacent tiled walls?

Many thanks.

Hi tours,
Use a sanitary sealant which has anti mould chemicals in it. It would be nice to be able to tell you that the more expensive it is the better it will work - for any given installation there are so many variables - so no.
